The Declaration of American Independence is often cited as a classic
example of a noble lie. Despite lacking any cosmological, metaphysical, or
scientific basis, it states that all humans are born free and have the same
rights. This declaration helped create the world's most powerful and wealthy
nation, where freedom of speech, thought, and religious organization is
respected. However, it is important to note that the signers of the Declaration
of Independence were landlords and slave owners who knew that not all humans
were born free and did not have the same privileges.
